Three Illinois waterparks have been hit by the economic storm of 2009.

According to media reports, the Sheraton Chicago Northwest CoCo Key Water Resort in Arlington Heights closed shop on Dec. 28. In LaSalle, the lenders for Frontier Lodge, a project still under construction, officially filed foreclosure papers in December. The project could end up becoming a residential housing development.

Meanwhile, KeyLime Cove in Gurnee has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
